From county fairs to neighborhood festivals, you’ll find that summer weekends in Madison are a great way to get to know your neighbors, sample the latest food carts, and take in some music along with the ubiquitous display of fireworks.

Art Fair on the Square

The Capitol Square offers up its grand and shaded streets for one of the midwest’s most renowned celebrations of art: Art Fair on the Square. Hundreds of exhibitors showcase their diverse works of art, including paintings, photographs, sculptures and jewelry. You’ll also be treated to an amazing selection of grilled foods and live music.

Dane County Fair

Go for the pulled-pork sandwiches and cream puffs, stay for the long-eared rabbits and colorful roosters. Watch as Wisconsin’s youth expertly care for farm animals of all sizes, exemplifying  the state’s values of education, leadership, and agriculture. Then indulge in some good old-fashioned carnival rides and games.
